Flowers
Solitary, perfect, hypogynous, sympetalous; immaculate, yellow corolla, 6-12 mm long and wide, campanulate, pentagonally symmetric; anthers 1-2.5 mm long, bluish or violet on slender filament 3-5 mm long; flowering calyx usually 4-7 mm long with lobes 2-3 mm long.
Fruit
Fruiting calyx ovate, 10-angled or 10-ribbed, 20-35 mm long, 15-25 mm wide on pedicels 1-4 mm long, usually purple veined; berry 8-12 mm in diameter on 1 mm long stalk (gynobase).
Leaves
Leaves alternate, petiolate; blades thin, ovate to lance-ovate, 4-10 (15)cm long, 3-6 (10)cm wide, often coarsely or irregularly toothed to entire.
